The sixth edition of the “HEALTHCARE POLICY SUMMIT” series is behind us!

The invited experts emphasized, among others, the key role of prevention and health promotion in Polish society, systematic and relevant cooperation between family doctors (POZ) and specialists in coordinated patient care, as well as the introduction of new technologies into daily medical practice. The issue of investment in human resources, appropriate valuation of medical services and financing of innovations were also on the agenda.

Discussion participants called for an increased role for outpatient care (AOS), the establishment of heart failure day units and the development of reference centers, where innovations are checked and tested. Experts pointed out that this is the way to evolutionarily improve the healthcare system in Poland.

During the conference, Prof. Rifat Atun, representing the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (Harvard University) delivered a keynote speech entitled. “Innovation and Strategic Public-Private Partnerships to create a High-Value Health System”, sharing with the participants his valuable experience in the field of health policy.
