“Our first step was to reactivate the Rare Disease Plan, and… we hope it will be presented at a government meeting within the next few days,” said Professor Urszula Demkow, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Health

“The previous Rare Disease Plan expired at the end of last December. Our first step was to reactivate the plan and go through all stages of legislation. We hope that it will appear on the government’s agenda within a few days,” said Professor Urszula Demkow, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Health, during the first Healthcare Policy Summit – Rare Diseases organized by the Institute for Social Policy Development.

Minister Demkow presented key facts regarding the current status and plans related to care for patients with rare diseases in Poland. She emphasized that work is underway to reactivate the Rare Disease Plan. She noted that the creation of a platform for patients and doctors, preparation of a rare disease patient card, and establishment of a Registry for these diseases are planned. All these actions are intended to improve patient care and expand knowledge on this subject.
