Prof. Dr. hab. n. med. Bolesław Samoliński is the Head of the Department of Public and Environmental Health and the Department of Environmental Threat Prevention and Allergology at the Medical University of Warsaw (WUM). He also chaired the Subcommittee on Health Priorities for the Polish Presidency of the EU Council in 2011. During last week’s conference, “The Road to the Presidency: Child and Adolescent Psychiatry,” held at the Medical University of Warsaw, he emphasized that the healthcare system is facing a sudden surge in demand for mental health support.
