The debate focused on hemato-oncology – a field in which the situation of Polish patients has significantly improved in recent years, with further changes planned.

📢 Today, during the Global Blood Cancer Awareness Month, the fifth expert meeting in the “Healthcare Policy Roundtable” series took place at the Medical University of Warsaw, organized by the Institute for Social Development and the Medical Center of the Medical University of Warsaw.

🔍 The debate was attended by prominent medical experts as well as representatives of public institutions. They discussed topics such as effective diagnostics, the shortage of specialists, and access to modern therapies. References were also made to the Rare Diseases Plan adopted in August, since most hematological cancers are rare diseases, as well as the role of hemato-oncology in the initiatives of the European Union and the upcoming Polish Presidency of the EU Council 🇪🇺, which begins on January 1, 2025. During the meeting, Director Mateusz Oczkowski from the Ministry of Health also announced that soon Polish patients suffering from blood cancers will gain access to new therapeutic options. 💊
