During the last edition, which took place on March 13, prominent experts in medicine, system experts, representatives of public institutions, and industry organizations discussed effective methods of diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients with infectious diseases yesterday.
The experts stressed the issue of access to rapid tests to detect respiratory diseases (COVID-19, influenza, RSV) and infectious diseases such as HIV and HCV. The specialists also emphasized that the statistics do not accurately reflect the prevalence of illnesses caused by HCV, which is often asymptomatic and can lead to serious health complications. The quality of laboratory tests and reliable, credible data obtained from the Polish population are crucial to the entire treatment process. Patient knowledge of infectious diseases is also important. Awareness of infections caused by HPV, which occurs through skin-to-skin contact, is an important aspect of building knowledge about the disease. A universal, voluntary, and free HPV vaccination program for girls and boys aged 12 and 13 will begin on June 1. According to experts, there is very little time left to promote, educate, and prepare for the implementation of this long-awaited program.
