Soldier’s Health – A Challenge for a Safe Future Conference Series

Conference Series “Soldier’s Health – A Challenge for a Safe Future” is a continuation of the inaugural conference under the same title, held on 12 December 2025 at the Warsaw Garrison Command Club. The event was organized by the Kulski Foundation for Polish‑American Relations in cooperation with the Institute for the Development of Social Affairs.

The series of debates and conferences is planned through 2027 (3–4 events per year), with the aim of fostering in‑depth, expert discussion on soldiers’ health in the broad context of public health and national security.

The planned thematic scope of the series includes, in particular:

– mental health of soldiers and recruits, including prevention of disorders, adaptive support, and care for veterans,
– health of servicewomen, taking into account the specific nature of military service and their health needs,
– cooperation between the military and civilian healthcare systems, including the role of military medical personnel as well as modern battlefield medicine and combat casualty care.

The goal of the series is to bring together the military, medical, public administration, and public opinion communities, and to build awareness that soldiers’ health is one of the key elements of national security. The discussions aim to develop recommendations concerning, among other things, effective prevention, mental‑health protection, the development of battlefield medicine and combat casualty care, the role of military medical staff, and the availability of critical medicines and medical equipment in emergency situations.

An integral part of the first event in the 2026 cycle, planned for March 2026, will be the presentation of a White Paper report, containing the positions, analyses, and recommendations of experts who participated in the December 2025 conference. This document is intended to serve as a starting point for further debates, in‑depth analyses, and the formulation of systemic recommendations regarding soldiers’ health and the resilience of the state.

The December conference attracted significant interest from military, medical, and expert communities, and its high substantive level was very positively evaluated by participants. The event also received broad media coverage, with reports and summaries appearing in Rzeczpospolita, Medonet, and TVN24.

Key conclusions from the conference held on 12 December 2025 at the Warsaw Garrison Command Club:

– the importance of prevention must continue to be emphasized,
– we must remember the need for cooperation between the military and civilian healthcare systems,
– action is required to secure critical medicines for the armed forces.

Participants’ and guests’ opinions confirmed that it was a necessary and well‑timed debate, highlighting key systemic challenges in the area of soldiers’ health.

The second conference in the series “Soldier’s Health – A Challenge for a Safe Future” was held on 5 March 2026 at the Warsaw Garrison Command Club.

During the debate, participants emphasized that national security and state resilience begin with the health, physical fitness, and psychological well‑being of individuals. In this context, soldiers’ health is a strategic element of national security, requiring a long‑term, systemic approach.

The conference gathered distinguished guests, experts, and practitioners.

During the event, the White Paper: Soldier’s Health – A Challenge for a Safe Future was presented.
